Terms and disclaimer

Plain English, because terms nobody reads protect nobody. This site is operated by Intelligentae Ltd.

What this site is

The UK Dashboard aggregates statistics published by third parties, principally United Kingdom government departments, public bodies and independent research organisations. We collect figures that are already public, present them together, and link to the source of each one.

We do not produce, collect or verify the underlying statistics. We are not the authority on any figure shown here. The authority is whoever published it, and that is who the link points to.

No warranty as to accuracy

We compile this information carefully and correct errors when we find them or when they are reported. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete or current.

Official statistics are revised after publication, sometimes substantially and sometimes years later. Sources change methodology, rebase indices and restate history. A figure shown here reflects what its source said at the time the data was compiled, which is recorded in the snapshot date shown in the footer. It may since have been revised.

Not advice

Nothing on this site is advice of any kind, including financial, investment, legal, political or professional advice. Do not make any decision in reliance on it. If a figure matters to a decision you are making, go to the original source, which is linked from every figure, and satisfy yourself directly.

Interpretation and commentary

Indicators are presented without a judgement as to whether a movement is good or bad. Where the site includes commentary explaining the context around a change, that commentary is our reading of published evidence, it is sourced, and it is clearly identified as commentary rather than data.

Commentary represents opinion offered in good faith on matters of public interest. It is not a statement of fact about any person, and no allegation about the conduct of any individual is intended or should be inferred. Correlation shown on this site is not a claim of causation, and the fact that a figure moved while a particular government held office is not a claim that the government caused it.

Third party data and intellectual property

The statistics presented here belong to the bodies that published them and are used under the terms each of them sets. Most are Crown copyright, reproduced under the Open Government Licence version 3.0. Bank of England data is used under the Bank's terms. Crude oil prices come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration and are in the public domain. Food bank figures are the copyright of Trussell and are cited singly rather than reproduced as a series. No stock market index data is published here, because the terms of every index owner we checked prohibit it without a licence. Full detail is on the Sources page.

If you own data used here and consider its use to fall outside your licence terms, please contact us and we will resolve it promptly. That is a faster route to the outcome you want than any other.

External links

This site links extensively to external sources, which is the point of it. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of any external site, and a link does not imply endorsement of anything on it.

No endorsement or affiliation

This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government department, public body, political party, campaign or candidate. Names of organisations and office holders appear only to identify the data being shown or the period being described.

Corrections

We would rather be corrected than be wrong.

If you believe a figure here is inaccurate, out of date, missing important context, or does not match the source it cites, please tell us. Say which figure, what you believe it should be, and where that comes from, and we will check it against the primary source.

When we correct something material we say what changed and when, rather than editing the number silently. Dated snapshots of the underlying data are retained so that what the site showed on a given date can be verified afterwards.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or anything on it, including any inaccuracy or omission in the data.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Privacy

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, loads no third party scripts, fonts or images, and makes no requests to any external service. We do not collect personal data through this site. A single browser storage entry records your light or dark theme preference on your own device, and it is never transmitted anywhere.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, for security and operational purposes.
